As much as we romanticize introducing new pets into the house, it’s not as easy as you might think it is. Your current pet might be unwelcoming and get jealous of the new fur baby.

But with patience and proper introductions, you can see their friendship blossom.

For TikTok user @must.love.dogs_, it didn’t take long for their senior dog to fall in love with the family’s new doggo.

It might’ve been the love that the older dog had for the new one that made her become a foster fail. Take a look!

O.M.G. You can just feel the love pouring out from this video. This senior dog doesn’t want to leave his little sister’s side. There’s no doubt in our minds that he made sure she felt comfortable in her new home.

Fostering an animal is a great way to help shelters and give you a glimpse into what it might be like to own a pet.

Animal shelters are especially in need of foster families since many around the country are at full or over capacity. But be prepared because fostering isn’t always a walk in the park.

There are things to consider before becoming a foster parent. Many shelter dogs are not housebroken so expect to clean up accidents and be patient with potty training. You should also prepare for a change in behavior.

Dogs might be shy at the shelter, but once in a loving home, they’ll have energy. Fostering a pet is a commitment as you might be responsible for bringing them to meet and greets.

Plus, there is an unknown timeline of when they’ll get adopted so you could be looking after your pet for months.

Above all, get ready to be attached or fall in love with your foster pet.
